The Fellowship Circle

Coming Soon

This program is designed to guide Black survivors of race-based harm, trauma, and oppression through a structured pathway of healing and renewal. By engaging the 12 steps, participants will learn to name their wounds without dismissal, embrace the power of grace, and cultivate practices that strengthen body, soul, and spirit. The process nurtures resilience, restores dignity, and builds belonging through peer support and cultural memory. Ultimately, the 12-Step Journey prepares participants not only to rise in their own lives but to carry hope and healing outward, empowering others and shaping stronger, more resilient communities.i Soonnon

Introducing your Facilitator

The Phoenix Fellowship was born out of both necessity and calling. Leaving behind a comfortable path, I stepped into caregiving for my parents, and into a season of uncertainty which amplified not only the drone of my own self-doubts, but the relentless echo of race-based harm which I and even my parents endured.

Race-based harm is not always loud. Sometimes it is as quiet as when the waitress consistently takes my White friend’s order first, or when the bill always lands in front of him, as if I am either invisible or presumably broke.

Moments like these are easy to dismiss, easy to explain away. However, when they add up over years, even decades, they carve deep grooves into the spirit. Healing begins with naming harm, no matter how subtle, no matter how insidious. This is why The Phoenix Fellowship is necessary.

This fellowship is not about blaming. It is about telling the truth. It is about releasing the weight we carry in silence. The Phoenix Fellowship is for all of us who have felt unseen, doubted, or dismissed. It is a circle where we remind each other that the pain we feel is real.  It is also about believing that grace is real, that dignity can be reclaimed, and that hope shall rise.

I welcome you here, not as an expert with all the answers, but as one who walks this journey alongside you.

Peace,

Jonathan Cade, RN, MSN, FNP-C

FAQs

  • The 12-Steps of Faith in Truth

The Twelve Steps of the Phoenix Fellowship are not mechanical instructions but spiritual movements. They invite honesty, surrender, and trust in Divine Grace.

    Step 1

We acknowledge the weight of race-based harm, trauma and oppression.  We release the weight of the false narratives of Black identity that we have carried alone. We now unload the burden before Divine Grace.

    Step 2

We believe that Divine Grace restores us to wholeness, and we draw hope from the resilience of those who endured before us.

    Step 3

We entrust our lives to Divine Grace, choosing to live in alignment with the purpose and integrity found therein.

    Step 4

We reflect honestly, naming both the wounds of race-based oppression and our Divinely appointed strengths that have sustained us.

    Step 5

We speak our truths before another, knowing that our voices carry power, freedom, and healing.

    Step 6

We renounce the false narratives of Black shame, worthlessness, and inferiority.  We reclaim our dignity and autonomy through Divine Grace.

    Step 7

In humility, we walk as vessels of Divine Transformation, remembering that strength and self-control co-exist.

    Step 8

We reflect on relationships strained by race-based harm, trauma and oppression and seek restoration guided by Divine Grace.

    Step 9

We act with courage to champion peace and justice as led by Divine Grace.

    Step 10

We practice daily resilience, holding gratitude and integrity in the face of oppression.

    Step 11

We deepen our connection to Divine Grace through prayer, meditation, and spiritual traditions that have sustained our people.

    Step 12

Having been renewed by Divine Grace, we rise with ancestral resilience to serve, carrying hope into families, communities, and generations.
